The mission of Utah Prosecution Council is to provide quality training for state and local prosecutors as well as law enforcement officers through an exchange of information and experience to ensure the administration of justice reflecting the highest ethical and professional standards.

2024 Utah Prosecutor of the Year Nomination Form


ELIGIBILITY:

Any government-employed prosecutor in Utah.

CRITERIA:

Cannot have received this award in the last five (5) years.

The number of cases filed or convictions obtained is NOT a factor that will be considered.

Accomplishments should reflect actions taken primarily in 2024. This is not a “lifetime” achievement award.

NOMINATION MATERIALS, PROCEDURE and SELECTION PROCESS

Complete the online nomination form (see below), no later than February 28, 2025.

Provide a statement explaining why the nominee is deserving of the award detailing qualities such as, but not limited to:

The person's commitment to serving and protecting victims/survivors of crime.

Prosecuting the guilty without fear or favor while at the same time recognizing when mercy is warranted.

Their resiliency, integrity, leadership, innovative ideas, service to fellow prosecutors and to the community.

How this prosecutor adheres to and exemplifies the highest ideals of our profession.

Specific examples in which the candidate embodied these considerations.

UPC’s Award Selection Committee will consider all nominees and select a recipient.
